Lenka Adamcová graduated from the Intermedia Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in 2021. Between 2019 and 2020, she spent two semesters at the University of the Rhine in Strasbourg where she studied sound. In 2021, she had internship at the Synth Library in Prague. In 2020, she participated on performances in La Chufferie at the Galerie de la HEAR in Strasbourg and within the Sonic Protest Festival in Paris. In her art, she primarily works with sound, but also engages in artistic collaborations in different choreographic, performative and participatory projects. Since 2019, she is coordinator, and provides audio-visual and sound support within the Aquarium Gallery project.

STATEMENT

"In my quest for the right means of expression, I discovered the medium of sound as my voice in communication in art. I focus on emotional challenge which I reflect through experience, through an acknowledgement that body acts in a way of resistance. We are entering a chance to comprehend the inner dispute of coping mechanism. Visuality supports audio content and is associated with momentum that creates the tension required for motion. I believe that, instead of stereotypical meditation, we can create different realities," explains Ms Adamcová her work.

CURATORIAL STATEMENT

„At the core of Lenka Adamcová’s practice is an exploration of sound and embodiment. Adamcová creates dynamically layered sonic landscapes through film, video and aural strategies ranging from composition, deconstruction, and distortion, as well as frequent collaborations with musicians, choreographers and artists. Her works conjure multiple temporalities that are simultaneously haunting and liberating, offering opportunities to consider alternative realities.” - Aaron Cezar
